Jamfuzer

Jamfuser is a 72-hour game jam, making a game from scratch in a team of five. My role was Environment Artist and Level Designer.

The last Antique

You have come into possession of an antique shop. Having shut after the first day of business, you've realized something isn't quite right.

You must solve 4 puzzles in order to escape, as the statue in the corner comes to life when the lights go off...

It was an amazing experience - learning how to deliver under extreme time-pressure, and that ‘good and done’ is better than ‘perfect and unfinished’.

I started by drawing up four level concepts. My team and I picked our two favorites, and I boxed these out in Unreal Engine.

With the two favorite maps, we play tested them and decided on which one worked best.

I then white-boxed the level, deciding what assets we needed, where they should be placed and their size.

Here are a couple assets I also made, modeled in 3ds Max and textured in Substance painter.

Here is the final level, I covered the level in assets, placing them randomly and making it look cluttered, while still still leaving space for the player to move around
